My name is Steve and I’m the pastor of Schuylkill Valley Bible Chapel, just north of Reading, Pennsylvania. Most of our people just call me Pastor Steve. It’s a beautiful area of the country located near Lancaster County which has a rich Amish and Mennonite heritage. We still see the occasional horse and buggy driving down the road or a farmer plowing with a team of beautiful horses.
I am blessed to pastor a group of wonderful Pennsylvania Dutch people, or Dutchmen or Dutchie as they sometimes refer to themselves. We’re a small but loving and engaged group of people who are attempting to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ. We don’t always do it perfectly, but we try.
At this point (1/26/10) I haven’t shared my journey with our church family. I know that soon I will need to tell them, it’s just that we have so little information to give them at this time. However, we need and value their prayers and encouragement on this journey so I my plan is to tell them next Sunday.
